Review - Alice Through the Looking Glass Palette by Urban Decay ♡

Hello everyone, hope you're all having a lovely day!

Today's post is going up quite a bit later than I wanted it to, but its going to be a review of the Urban Decay "Alice Through The Looking Glass" palette. This package of gorgeousness was an early birthday present, and I was super excited to try it out!
Also being a huge Disney fan, straight away this limited edition collection had me very excited! The palette contains 20 eyeshadows, and there a mixture of shimmers and mattes. Some of the shades, in particular the greens and blues are very out there, however all the other shades are quite neutral and perfect for everyday wear!

When first swatching these eyeshadows, the consistency was really creamy which I love! They are also very pigmented, and some of the shades you definitely have to gradually build up to avoid mistakes, like "metamorphosis" (bottom left) and "gone mad" (second row, second eyeshadow.) As for the brush, for me this was the only thing that let the palette down slightly. Although I love the way the design matches the rest of the palette, I felt that it didn't feel as luxury as for example the brush in my naked palette, and was hard to blend out eyeshadow with. Instead I would recommend the Real Techniques eyeshadow brushes, as these are a perfect, affordable alternative! :)

Above you can see I have swatched a few of the eyeshadows so you can see that they're pigmentation is amazing! My favourite shades from the whole palette is probably the copper toned brown (fourth in from the left) and also the champagne shade which you could also use as an inner corner highlight (third in from the right.)

I really hope you enjoyed this post, if you did manage to pick up anything from the range I hope you like it as much as I do, and if you didn't then don't worry, I'm sure something similar will be released soon! :)

My New Real Techniques Bold Metals Brushes! ♡

So this post for me is so exciting, because I'm going to be sharing with you something I have longed for for ages and finally got my hands on! These are the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes, and oh my goodness are they
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

These brushes came as part of a set which Real Techniques bought out for Christmas, which also came with a clutch bag to keep them in. However this cost £64, so I decided that I would risk waiting for them to go in the January sales, and they did! So when I was shopping with my friend's in Boots and I saw it on the shelf reduced to £25, I was SO excited!

Today is the first time I used them, and they are amazing! The bristles are extremely soft, and (so far) haven't shredded when I'm applying my makeup. I experimented with what each brush could be used for, and have found several different ways which I thought I would share with you, in case any of you were thinking of buying them for yourself. I hope you enjoy!

200 Oval Shadow Brush
This brush I found is great for putting eyeshadow on all over the lid. The size was perfect for doing this, and I decided to use it for blending in my cream base, and also for applying a light eyeshadow ready to add colour to my eyelid. However, you could also use it to blend in concealer, on those  areas where you may have a bigger blemishes (for me this is my chin.)

300 Tapered Brush

I loved using this brush to set my under eye concealer with powder. It's the perfect size to fit under my eyes, and makes the process nice and speedy! You could also use this brush to apply blusher,  if you like to be precise as to where on your cheekbones you would like to put it. Highlighter can also be applied with this brush onto the cheekbones for a delicate shimmer.

103 Angled Powder Brush

Sadly this brush is exclusive to this gift set which is only available for a limited time, but there is one extremely similar however with a smaller head, which is the 100 Arched Powder brush. This would (obviously) be good for powdering your whole face, to set your makeup. You could also use it to bronze up your whole face too.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, if you have any of the Bold Metals collection let me know in the comments!

See you next Sunday!

Meeting Zoella! - Girl Online 2 Book Signing ♡

Hey guys!
This post is just going to be a short one showing you a couple of photos from when I finally met my idol (Zoella) at her Girl Online 2 book signing in Brighton!

Zoe was honestly so kind and friendly, she was so genuine and came across just as she is in her videos which was so nice! I haven't yet started Girl Online 2 since the book signing, but I am going to make sure that I do very soon!

Unfortunately due to the amount of people there and time limits you weren't allowed to take posed photos / selfies with her, but your parents were allowed to take photos while you were with her! So creds to my Dad who took the first photo for me!

I just want to do a bit of a disclaimer and say that I am in no means trying to brag about the fact I met Zoe - I was extremely lucky to get tickets to go with my best friend, and it was part of my Christmas present from my parents. I also wanted to share these photos on my blog as a memory to keep! If you love Zoe like I do but haven't got the chance to meet her then I hope one day you will, as I'm sure she will do lots of other events! *Fingers crossed for Girl Online 3 and book signings for that! :) *

I hope you all have an amazing Halloween tomorrow whatever your doing!

My Favourite Palette for Autumn - GOSH Cosmetics! ♡

Hey everyone!

Today I'm doing a post on my new favourite palette perfect for Autumn, and it's the GOSH cosmetics "To Enjoy in New York" palette! This palette is available in Superdrug, and retails for £9.99.

So in this palette you get 9 shades, mostly plum colours, with a neutral grey and brown. There are also a couple of shades perfect for highlighting (top left) which I have tested under the brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye, and it gives a beautiful shimmer similar to MAC's "vanilla" pigment.

Here are swatches of all the shades, going from left to right in each row:

The shades don't have names, but all have shimmer in them, so I use MAC's paint pot in "Painterly" to prime my eyes, and then use these gorgeous shades for a berry eye. If you love your red lipstick, then wear it with a purple smokey eye and it would look fab!
The shades are really pigmented, and as long as I prime my eyes (I have oily eyelids) then they stay on all day, and don't transfer to under my eyes!

For £9.99 I think the palette is really good, and it offers a pretty range of shades to create numerous different eye looks with, which look great in the Autumn and Winter!

I hope you enjoyed this mini review! Also, I thought I would just let you know that my new blogging schedule is that there will always be new posts once a week on a Friday, but I will also try and post  more throughout the week when I can!

See you Monday!

The Autumn Tag! ♡

Hello beauties!
As its getting into the cosy Autumn/Winter months I thought I would do a good old tag! I originally saw this on a girl called Georgia's blog ( http://www.makeup-pixi3.com )so creds to her for this fab idea! The last tag post I ever did was a "20 Facts About Me" one, which happened to be the first post I ever did on this blog, so I think one is long over due! :)
So grab some snuggly blankets and a warm cuppa as this may be a long post!

1: What's Your Favourite Seasonal Drink?
My favourite seasonal drink isn't available until Christmas, but its the white hot chocolate from Costa's! It tastes amazing, and they sprinkle cute little gold stars on top which I love.  But I also like one from Starbucks which you can get all year round, and its their luxury hot chocolate. It's perfect for if  you've been shopping and you fancy a sweet treat!

2:  Favourite accessories?
My favourite accessory during Autumn is definitely a red tartan scarf! I just love the way that it looks with my green parker jacket, and it keeps me nice and toasty when I'm outside and its cold!

3: What's your favourite music to listen to in Autumn?
I don't really change my taste in music as the seasons change (apart from Christmas of course!) and I normally just listen to whatever is hot in the charts. But recently I have been loving Ariana Grande, as her voice is just perfect and her songs are great!

4: What's your favourite scent for this time of year?
At the moment its the Zoella blissful mistful perfume! It's just a really floral, girly scent and I love it!

5: What scents will you be burning this season?
I really love the smell of Yankee candles, even though I don't own one, but hopefully this year I'm going to get my hands on Snowflake Cookie, because it smells incredible!
P.S - a good tip for making your room smell lovely is to have a basket full of festive lush products- it fills your room with amazing smells and lasts until you use them!

6: What do you love most about Autumn?
This is a tricky question, but I love lots of movies, hot chocolate, snuggly pyjamas, scarves, thick jumpers, the berry makeup looks, and red lips! I also love being able to go outside and see all the leaves changing colour, because it makes me even more excited for Christmas!

7: Favourite makeup look?
This time of year is when I whip out all those berry eye shadow shades and red lippy's! At the moment I have been using the GOSH cosmetics "To Enjoy In New York" eyeshadow palette, it has lots of deep purple and neutral shades perfect for this season! (Post coming soon!)

8:  What are you looking forward to most this Autumn?
Hot chocolate, shopping with friends and the countdown to CHRISTMAS! :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, see you next time!

New Tanya Burr Cosmetics Review & Swatches! ♡

Hey!
So today's post is very exciting because I'm going to be showing you some of the new Tanya Burr makeup products that I picked up the other day! I was so excited when I read on Tanya's blog that she was bringing out more products to add to her collection, as I am a big fan of all the other products that she has released! Soooooo when I saw the new collection on a shelf in Superdrug, I had to pick up a couple of things!

The products I decided on in the end were the "Hollywood Eye Palette" and also the "I Found Nemo" lipgloss. As a huge Disney fan of course I had to get the one with Nemo in it :)

So the first thing I love about the products is the packaging! The pink and gold on the eyeshadow palette is dreamy, and the gold lid on the lipgloss looks fab! I also love how the mirror in the palette is a love heart, little touches like that make me super happy!
The lip glosses are so long wearing and not sticky at all. The colours come out really vibrant on your lips. They also smell minty, and each lip gloss costs £5.99.
The eyeshadow palette - definitely my favourite! The names of all the shades are really cute, my favourite probably being "enchantment." The eyeshadows are really pigmented, and are quite long-lasting. When I used them I applied an eyeshadow base first because otherwise eyeshadows generally don't stay on my eyelid, so I'm not sure how they are without a base.
The palettes all cost £6.00, which I think is amazing!

So I really hope you enjoyed this post, leave me a comment below if you have bought anything from the range, or if you have your eye on any of the products!

Tanya's new range can be found in Superdrug and the FeelUnique website! Also, Tanya uploaded a tutorial with her using the Hollywood palette I showed in this post, as well as some of her lip glosses so here is a link to that video!

Mid-August Favourites! ♡

Hiya!
This weeks post is going to be my mid August favourites. I can't believe how quickly this month is going and we are nearly going into Autumn which is crazy! Summers nearly over and I will be going back to school soon. *cries.* Anyway, here's what I'm currently loving this month!

Life With A Sprinkle of Glitter Book
So I'm going to put my hands up straight away and say  I don't really enjoy reading very much at all. But when I was in Waterstones and saw this on the shelf I knew that I would love it, being by one of my favourite youtubers, Sprinkle of Glitter! Louise's fun personality really shows through in her book, and there were times where I found myself giggling at some of the things she said. There are chapters in there for everyone, like beauty, pampering, body confidence and love. My favourite was probably the "Glitz" section, it really put me in the mood for a pamper evening! :)

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
"Oh not this product again" I hear you say. Yep, I know. Every single beauty blogger and youtuber out there has talked about this product A LOT, and I'm about to too :)
Hearing this product being mentioned SO many times on blog posts or videos, I felt like I had to give it a go. So off I went to boots, and picked up the small bottle as it was my first time with it. I was a bit worried that my skin would react badly to it, because I have had that with a previous Garnier product before. BUT I LOVE IT! It breaks down your makeup a real treat, and makes the whole removing makeup process a lot quicker as you can use it on your eyes and your face!

Real Techniques Blush Brush.
Being a huge fan of real techniques brushes and starting to get into wearing blusher, this brush seemed like the way to go. And boy was it the right way too. This brush is so so so soft (just like all the others) and is the perfect size and shape for your cheek bones. It gathers just enough product on the brush to create the perfect flush of colour to your cheeks. Yay!

Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream
So, not so long ago Benefit released their line of skincare products. As you may have seen if you read my May favourites, I raved about their eye make-up remover, which I love. Now I'm back, 3 months later talking about their amazing moisturiser! I have been using a mini size which got in a big Benefit skincare kit (blog post on that soon) for a while now, and have fallen in love with it! It's really hydrating and since using it, my dry skin has improved a lot. It also has a lovely scent, which makes it even more lovely to put on!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Good bye creasing eyeshadow, hello perfect eye makeup! This little tube of joy fell into my basket after a trip to Debenhams and im so impressed with it! It keeps your eye makeup on for hours, and keeps creases away too, which is fab!

That was a little bit of a long post, congrats if you read til the end :) See you in my next post!
